Use your Dimmers and save power
Quite often, people ask us to remove dimmers because they believe they are using more energy. This is not necessarily true.
As long as the light is not being used at full capacity the dimmer will save power by omitting less light, thus reducing the wattage and reducing your energy usage.
Dimmers shouldn’t be Hot
Dimmers can be warm to touch; however if you find your dimmer to be HOT this will need to be looked at by a licensed electrician.
If your dimmers are too hot it could be that the load is too high for the dimmer mech ( usually this is 450 watt max unless specified otherwise). If this happens to you please give Electrical Excellence a call.
